Provider
Mercury Agent App: Run Inception's Mercury Models in OpenBot
OpenBot runs Inception's Mercury models as one agent of a team, on macOS, Windows or Linux, with an Inception API key. You get shared channels with agents on other providers.
How to set it up
Download OpenBot
For macOS 13 or later on Apple silicon or Intel, Windows 10 or later on x64, or x64 or arm64 Linux.
Connect Inception
Download Pi in OpenBot first: Mercury runs in OpenBot's copy of Pi. Then select Connect on the Inception row and paste an Inception API key. OpenBot keeps the key encrypted and does not change Pi's own settings.
Give your agent a job
Create an agent on Inception, choose its model, and give it a task. OpenBot makes a workspace folder for it. When the work grows, add agents on other providers to the same channel.
What OpenBot adds
Three Mercury models
Choose Mercury 3, with a context of 1 million tokens, or Mercury 2.5 or Mercury 2.
Your key stays in OpenBot
OpenBot keeps the Inception API key in its encrypted store, not in Pi's settings files.
A team, not one chat
Each agent has its own job and workspace. A lead agent gives parts of a task to other agents in a shared channel, and you step in when a decision needs you.
Change the provider, keep the work
Move an agent to a different provider and it keeps its role, workspace and conversation. Agents on different providers work in the same channel. When a plan reaches its limit, an agent can move to a backup model.
Your data on your computer
Workspaces, chats and files stay on the computer that runs OpenBot. The provider you choose gets the requests you send.
Use your AI plans
OpenBot is free for noncommercial use. Your agents use the plans you already pay for.
Official apps
The apps from Inception, and where they run. OpenBot runs the same agent, so you can use both.
| App | Runs on | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Mercury Chat | Your browser | A chat with the Mercury models. |
| Inception API Platform | Your browser, and any OpenAI-compatible client | API keys and use of the Mercury models. |
Every plan an agent can use

Questions
What is Mercury?
Mercury is Inception's family of diffusion language models. They make tokens in parallel, at more than 1,000 tokens a second, Inception says. Mercury 3 came out on 19 October 2026, with a context of 1 million tokens.
How much does Mercury cost?
For each million tokens, Mercury 3 costs $0.10 for input and $0.35 for output, at 50% off for its launch. Mercury 2.5 costs $0.20 and $0.75, and Mercury 2 costs $0.25 and $0.75. New accounts get 100 million free tokens.
Why does Inception need Pi?
OpenBot runs Mercury in its own copy of Pi. Download Pi once in OpenBot, and Inception agents then use it with your Inception API key.
Can I use Inception agents from my phone or share them with a team?
No. Inception agents use the API key on your computer, so they stay on that computer. The phone apps and team members do not see them. Agents on other providers are available on your phone and to your team.
