## How to set it up

1. ### Download OpenBot

For macOS 13 or later on Apple silicon or Intel, Windows 10 or later on x64, or x64 or arm64 Linux.

2. ### Connect Claude Code

Choose Claude, and OpenBot downloads and pins its own copy of Claude Code, or uses the one you installed. Then sign in with your Claude account. If `claude` works in your terminal, it works in OpenBot.
3. ### Give your agent a job

Create an agent on Claude Code, choose its model, and give it a task. OpenBot makes a workspace folder for it. When the work grows, add agents on other providers to the same channel.

## What OpenBot adds

- ### A full desktop app on Linux

Anthropic's desktop app is in beta on Linux, for Ubuntu and Debian only. OpenBot runs Claude Code on x64 and arm64 Linux, as an AppImage.
- ### A team, not one chat

Each agent has its own job and workspace. A lead agent gives parts of a task to other agents in a shared channel, and you step in when a decision needs you.
- ### Your agents on your phone

The OpenBot apps for iPhone and Android connect to the computer that runs your agents, over an encrypted connection, with no VPN. Remote access needs an OpenBot account.
- ### Change the provider, keep the work

Move an agent to a different provider and it keeps its role, workspace and conversation. Agents on different providers work in the same channel.
- ### Your data on your computer

Workspaces, chats and files stay on the computer that runs OpenBot. The provider you choose gets the requests you send.
- ### No account on one computer

OpenBot is free for noncommercial use, and it needs no account on one computer. Your agents use the plans you already pay for.

## Questions

### Is there a GUI for Claude Code?

Yes. Anthropic's Claude desktop app has a Code tab for macOS and Windows, and Linux in beta. OpenBot is a different desktop app: it runs Claude Code as one agent of a team, with agents on other providers and an app on your phone.

### Does OpenBot need an Anthropic API key for Claude Code?

No. OpenBot uses the sign-in of Claude Code, so your Claude Pro or Max plan works. OpenBot does not copy your credentials. The free Claude plan does not include Claude Code.

### Can I run Claude Code on Linux with a graphical app?

Yes. Anthropic's desktop app is in beta on Linux, for Ubuntu 22.04 or later and Debian 12 or later. OpenBot runs Claude Code on x64 and arm64 Linux as an AppImage, on any distribution that runs an AppImage.

### Can Claude Code and Codex work together in OpenBot?

Yes. Each agent has its own provider. A Claude Code agent and a Codex agent can work in the same channel and give tasks to each other.
